Three Lakes is a small town located in the northeastern part of Oneida County. As of 2010, the town had a population of 2,131 residents.
While the town may be small, it has a big reputation. Voted the “Single Best Town in America” and known as the home of the “Largest Chain of Lakes in the World”, Three Lakes has a lot to offer. Each of the 28 lakes on the chain offers pristine waters with great fishing to boot. Don’t know where to start? Contact one of the guide service in the area and start catching more fish. Check out Three Lake’s website here for more information.
If you’re looking to try a new sport, head to one of the Pickleball courts in Three Lakes. For the uninitiated, Pickleball is a court style sport played much like tennis or badminton, but with a twist. The net is set at a height of 34 inches and players use rackets that are roughly twice the size of ping pong paddles to hit a plastic ball that is very similar to a wiffle ball. The sport is very easy for beginners to pick up and can be understood after a couple rounds of play. More information about Pickleball can be found here.
Dining options are plentiful in the Three Lakes area. Those who enjoy authentic German fare will want to check out Black Forest Pub & Grille. This restaurant has been serving up authentic German food since 1940 and has become a local staple since. Some regular visitors say that a trip to Three Lakes isn’t complete without stopping at Black Forest. For something more traditional, stop into the Sunset Grill on Big Stone Lake. This local stop serves up classic American breakfast and lunch items. After a long day on the boat, it’s a great place to dock on up and get a bite to eat.
Three Lakes shows that it offers something for everyone, whether that’s good food or the great outdoors. If you want to experience Three Lakes for yourself, check out one of the properties below and contact an agent today!
